An engagement announcement of in terest to her many friends here is that of Miss Virginisa Bolt who will be mar ried to Charles Stewart of Columbia, S. C. June 5. The ceremony will take place in the Presbyterian Church in Simpson- ville, S. C. For the last two summers, Miss Bolt has been on the staff of Camp Sapphire as a life guard, playground supervisor, and music instructor. During the winter she teaches public school music. Her brother, Bob, landscape supervi sor here will be one of the ushers for the wedding. Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Tal- madge (Cleaner Crew) an nounce the birth of a boy, Rob ert L., Jr., born March 3 at the Transylvania Community hos pital. Marshall McClanahon Feast- er, III, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Feaster, Jr., (Store room) arrived on March 14 at the Biltmore hospital, weighing 814 lbs. Mrs. Feaster was form erly employed in the Main Of fice. On March 17, Larry Patrick Owen arrived at the Transyl vania Community Hospital, weighing lbs. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Owen (Pulp Mill). Dick Landeck (Endless Belt), Five Year Service Club reporter, lets Echo readers know of the arrival of Richard, William, Jr. in a unique manner. We quote the memo received in The Echo office; "Since it so happens that The Echo is always on the lookout for news items, my wife and I decided to help out. "We proudly present to the Echo this month our own bit of news which arrived at 3:04 a. m. March 29, with a good MISS PAT HODSON IS MARRIED IN FLORIDA lusty howl proclaiming to all the world that he is a boy and a good healthy one, too. His weight at the time was seven pounds 15 Vi 02. He will be known hereafter as Richard William. My wife and I realize that this is going to extremes in that this going to extremes in furnishing news for The Echo but it seems to us that lots of our Ecusta married couples are doing the same thing, and who are we to consider ourselves different from the rest? "At any rate, Evelyn, the ba by and yours truly are doing fine, thanks.” Marla Jane was the pretty name selected by Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hooper (Control) for their new daughter who arrived March 30 at the Patton Me morial hospital in Henderson ville. She tipped the scales at 6 lbs. 13 02. at birth. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Shiflet an nounce the birth of a 7V^ lb. son, Ben Davis, Jr., at the Tran sylvania Community hospital, on March 26. Mrs. Shiflet is the former Miss Mildred Carpenter, of the Main Office. Mr. and Mrs. Winifred Tweed (Refining) announce the birth 11 Miss Pat Hodson of the Main Office staff was married to Lawrence H. Parks of 376 N. Gulfstream Ave., Sarasota, Fla., in a ceremony at the First Baptist church of Venice, Fla., on March 17, at 6 p. m. The Rev. Craw ford, pastor, officiated. The bride wore an aquamarine suit with accessories of brown. Immediately after the ceremony the couple flew to Havana, Cuba for a wedding trip. Another wedding of interest was the marriage of Miss Velma Lackey of Finishing to Franklin Rackley of the same department in Greenville, S. C., April 4. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Lackey of Bryson City and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Rackley of Brevard. of little Patricia Gale, IVi lbs. at the Transylvania Commu nity hospital on March 25. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Evans (Refining) are the proud par ents of Nancy, 9 lbs. 5 02. born March 26 at the Mission hos pital in Asheville. Mrs. Evans is the former Miss Helen Kim- zey of the Pulp Mill office.
