One of the best opening day programs in history is scheduled at Camp Sapphire on Sunday, May 30, at 2 p.m. As announced elsewhere on these pages, one of the highlights will be the unveiling of a War Memorial hon oring the Ecusta men who gave their lives in World War II. The Ecusta band will give a concert and there will be other events on the program. Favorite attractions like bathing, boating, fishing, and picnicking are expected to draw many to the camp opening day. The camp is in ex cellent condition and awaits the greatest season in its history. , The children’s playground, consisting of the merry- go-round, double see-saws, and swinging, is ready for the youngsters. The camp area will be open daily throughout the summer from 10 a. m. until 10 p. m. and swimming hours will be from 10 a. m.—12 Noon and from 1 p. m.—7 p. m. Fishing will attract its usual host of followers this sea son. Passes may be secured at the Personnel Office on a first come, first served basis. The passes are good for one day. Plenty of bass and bream are in the lake and the angler’s skill and luck are put to test in getting them out. The limit this year per person, per day will be two bass of not less than 11 inches in length and five bream, not less than 6 inches long. WAR MEMORIAL TO ECUSTA VETERANS TO BE UNVEILED The dedication of a War Memorial to Ecusta veterans who lost their lives in service will be a highlight of the opening day’s program at Camp Sapphire on Sunday afternoon. May 30. The Memorial dedicatory program will begin at 2:30 p. m. and will consist of music by the Ecusta Band and a MR. STRAUS TO SPEAK AT SAPPHIRE OPENING
