York City who were married May 9. Mr. Lan
deck has been associated with our company since
July 1, 1936. Mrs. Landeck is the former Miss
Else Weinberg.
MR. VANNAH'S SON ENGAGED
Harold Perry Vannah, son of Mr. and Mrs. H.
P. Vannah (Plant Research), and Miss Sally
Anne Taylor, daughter of Mrs. Peter Barry Tay
lor and the late Mr. Taylor of Long Meadow,
Mass., have announced their engagement.
The bride-elect is at present employed as an
underwriter for the Monarch Life Insurance Co.
in Springfield, Mass. and the prospective groom
is a senior at Bowdoin College where he will
graduate in September. He served four years with
the army during the war and is a lieutenant in the
Army air corps reserve.
ANN HILL APPEARS ON
COVER OF JAYCEE MAGAZINE
Miss Ann Hill of the Mill Office, who was
selected Miss Brevard in the contest June 5, re
ceived additional recognition this month when
she appeared on the cover of Future, monthly
publication of the North Carolina Junior Chamb
er of Commerce. Appearing in the photograph
were Doyle Wells, of Control; Charles F. Himes,
local Jaycee president and Miss Carolyn Kimzey,
who was selected Miss Brevard last year. Miss
Hill represented Brevard in the Miss North
Carolina contest at Wrightsville Beach this
month.
PRICE-RICE WEDDING
Miss Mildred Price of Endless Belt and Clyde
Rice of Champagne Printing were married Sun
day afternoon, July 18, in a ceremony at the Mace
donia Baptist church. Rev. A. J. Manley, pastor of
the church, performed the marriage. The bride
and groom have been employed here several years
and both are members of the Five Year Service
Club.
DIXON-SKINNER MARRIAGE
David Stuart Dixon of the Turbine Room
personnel and Miss Anne Angela Skinner were
married June 13 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in
Greenville, S. C.
Mrs. Dixon is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Trestrem Skinner of El Centro, Calif. The groom
is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence F. Dixon.
20lh ANNIVERSARY
Mr. and Mrs. Eugene King (Applied Research)
are celebrating their twentieth wedding anniver
sary on July 28. Mr. King was employed at Ecusta
on his wedding anniversary seven years ago. Mrs.
King, whose maiden name was Norma Chap
man, is a native of this county. They have two
children, Eugene, Jr. and Norma LaNelle. Both
Mr. and Mrs. King are former teachers in this
and other counties of the state, and many of the
Ecusta employees are former pupils of the Kings.
Mr. and Mrs. Burlas C. Ashe were married
July 3 at Blantyre by Rev. Carl Blythe. The
bride is the former Mildred Orr of finishing and
the groom is employed in Inspection. They plan
to live in Penrose.
