At Work or At Play—
Safe Practices Pay!
If each of us would adopt and practice the slo
gan that "ITS ALWAYS CARE WEATHER/’
our personal injuries and sicknesses would auto
matically decrease.
We must admit that too many of us pay too
little attention to protecting our health, and that
numerous personal injuries bring out the fact that
"we do not me the necessary "care" and "caution”
in performing our daily routine tasks.
There is a safe way to do all things, and we will
always find that the safe way is the best way.
DO WE HAVE "WEAK LINKS”?
It has often been said and is very, very true that
"A Chain is as strong as its weakest link.”
This statement could easily be adapted to each
department’s safety record, for no matter how
careful the majority of the employees of a de
partment may be, a "chance-taker” or "weak link”
can ruin a good safety record in a matter of sec
onds.
Our record here at Ecusta for the past nine
years, bears out the fact that we do have numer
ous "strong links” in our program for eliminating
personal injuries. However, there is room for
improvement, and we are soliciting the aid of you
"strong links” in helping sell our "weak links” or
"chance-takers” on the great importance of their
staying accident free.
This strengthening of our safety chain CAN
BE DONE, and there is no one in a better posi
tion to assist in this worthwhile move than you
employees who are really safety-conscious.
We should all remember that Job Dividend
Checks are governed by our Company’s profit—
that reduced operating expenses automatically
means more profit—and that Accidents, even the
ones that do not result in personal injury, are
oftentimes costly.
Need more be said.?
"Men still die with their boots on—but usually
one boot is on the accelerator.”—Selected.
