RULES FOR FESTIVAL 1. All exhibits entered must be grown by employees (and, or members of their immediate household.) An exception is made in the case of canned peaches since peaches do not thrive in this vicinity. 2. Peaches not grown by the exhibitor and entered in the canned goods division must be purchased in the raw state and fully prepared by the ex hibitor, 3. All exhibits entered in the Harvest Festival must have been canned and grown during 1948. 4. All canned goods exhibited must be canned by an employee or a member of his or her family. 5. Entries must be received at the company cafeteria not later than Thursday, September 2, midnight. 6. Exhibitors may make only one entry in each classification. 7. Exhibitors are urged to present a list of entries to the Personnel of fice well in advance. Labels will be typed and held until exhibits are pre sented for showing. 8. If there are three or fewer exhibits in any one classification, judges will use discretion in awarding prizes. 9. Judges’ decision will be accepted as final, 10. Owners must claim and remove displays between midnight Fri day, September 3rd, and 4:30 p. m., Saturday, September 4th. Prize ribbons will be removed with the displays. 11. Cash prizes may be called for at the judges’ booth in the cafeteria, between 4:00 p. m. and 8:00 p. m. Friday, September 3rd, or afterward at the Personnel office. 12. Display plates for fresh vegetables and fruits will be provided. Vases will be loaned to exhibitors for flower arrangements. 13. Exhibitors may use their own containers for flowers but judges will be instructed to disregard arrangement and container and will base their decision solely on quality. 14. Individual displays will be judged on the following basis: (1) Quantity of items in display—30 per cent; (2) Quality of items—30 per cent; (3) Originality—10 per cent; (4) Neatness—10 per cent (5) Pro portion and balance—10 per cent; (6) General appearance—10 per cent.
