On this paper, Paul Bowen, the youngest of the six sons became an important cog in the or ganization as chief type setter. Years later, his son was to set type in the Champagne Shop. The paper prospered, and for over a decade it reached Henderson County homes bringing the timely and worthwhile messages of the Minister. His health failing. Pastor Bowen gave up the publishing business and moved to Henderson ville. Today, his two granddaughters. Misses Ethel and Louise Bowen live in the same house, three miles west of Hendersonville, in which the pa pers were published. Arthur Bowen, like his father became a type setter. In the same year of his coming to Ecusta, he was transferred to the Champagne Job Print ing department. Since then, he has moved up from the type setter’s high stool to the place of operating one of Champagne’s automatic presses. As Arthur watches Ecusta paper roll off his press, the stories of his grandfather’s hand-fed press often comes to his mind. We believe that if the old gentleman could return to us for a visit, he would be pleased to see his grandson surrounded by printing supplies and working behind a printing press. Today, Ar thur is doing the type of work that his grand father, the Preacher-Printer loved so well. {This article appeared in THE COTTAGE VISITOR Dec. 9, 1868.)
