SPORTS BOWLING SEASON ENDS — CHAMPAGNE CARDS FIRST, FINISHING SECOND FIRST PLACE CHAMPAGNE CARDINALS The Champagne Cardinals copped the Ecusta Inter-departmental Bowling League crown for the 1948-’49 season with a record of 46 wins against 20 losses. The Finishing team captured the second place honors close behind the champion Cardinals by finishing the season with a record of 43 wins and 23 losses. The Maintenance Eagles and the Champagne Cubs finished in a tie for the third place honors of the league with a record of 41 wins and 25 losses for each team. In deciding the third and fourth place honors of the league, the Eagles and Cubs bowled a best two out of three game set which the Eagles won by winning the first two games of the match, thus giving the Eagles the third place honors and the Cubs fourth place honors. The third place Eagles team appeared in the October issue of THE ECHO and the fourth place Cubs appeared in the November ECHO.
