ON THE COVER
Western North Carolina is a long
way from Cooperstown, New York,
the birthplace of baseball, but from
the first warm days of Spring to
the cool days of Fall they are next
door neighbors. From major league
parks to the back-yard fence, young
and old will be watching a base
ball game somewhere in this great
land of ours. And if there is a
ball game we can rest assured that
there will be plenty of argu
ments over the decisions of the
umpires. This cover scene was
taken recently at a sandlot game
at Pisgah Forest, and this scene
will be reenacted many many times
from the Grapefruit circuit to the
World Series.
PRINTED ON ECUSTA 40-LB. FLAX-OPAKE (BIBLE PAPER)
THE COVER IS PRINTED ON CHAMPIQN KROMEKOTE
THE ECHO IS PRINTED BY THE CHAMPAGNE JOB PRINTING DEPARTMENT
