Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Teague (Machine Room) have announced the arrival of Robert Jennings on February 19, 1949. The youngster was born at the Transylvania Community Hospital and v^eighed 4 lbs. 12 oz. Frances Elizabeth Drake arrived on March 5 th at Patton Memorial Hospital. She is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Drake (Finishing) and tipped the scales at 7 lbs. A son, Larry Eugene, at the Liston Hughey home. He was born on March 22nd at Transyl vania Community Hospital weighing 8 lbs. 3 oz. Liston is employed in the Machine Room, Another new arrival at the local hospital was Ernest Bowen Turbyfill. The youngster weighed 6 lbs. 13 oz. and arrived on March 26th. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Turbyfill (Job Printing-Champagne). Jean Elizabeth Baynard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Baynard (Machine Room) ar rived at the local hospital on March 31st. She tipped the scales at 8 lbs. 11 oz. Mr. and Mrs. George Carl Bryson (Machine Room) have announced the birth of Charles Joseph at Biltmore Hospital on April 3rd. Young Charlie weighed 6 lbs. 7 oz. It’s a boy for Mr. and Mrs. Alex Duris (Main Office). Peter Lee was born at Patton Memo rial Hospital in Hendersonville on April 5 th and RED CROSS THANKS CONTRIBUTORS A letter of thanks has been received by The Echo from the local Red Cross Roll Call leaders, Jerry Jerome and C. M. Douglas, and also from Chairman Lewis P. Hamlin, thanking Ecusta, Endless Belt, and their employees for the generous donation made to the 1949 roll call. With a county quota of $2,715, the chapter officially states that Ecusta employees donated a total of $1,145.91, which amount was matched by the management. $2,141.82 was sent to the local chapter, which was 78.8 percent of the en tire chapter allotment, and $150 was sent to the Henderson County chapter, making a grand total for 1949 of $2,291.82. "Ecusta and its employees have come through again,” the letter from the officials states, "as you have in the past.” Total donations for the county will probably reach $3,700 the officials stated. They are very happy in view of the fact that several nearby counties have not reached their goal. In a letter from the Henderson County chapter Chairman E. A. Smythe says, "I wish to express to Ecusta and its employees our sincere thanks for the generous gift.” tipped the scales at 8 lbs. 9 oz. Mrs. Duris form erly was employed in the Main Office. 28
