The following were on vacation during the month of June; Fred Barton, Wade Scroggs, Many of us at Ecusta like to hear Jean Whit mire, of the Main Office, tell stories, since we have been accustomed to the Southern drawl for so many years. Jean, with her crisp English ac cent, can relate many good stories, especially about the war, while most of us are getting started. She is the former Miss Jean Waugh of Epsom Downs, England, and was married to Tommy Whitmire, of Brevard, while he was stationed there during World War IL She experienced many air raids during the Blitz, and was certainly among those who were happy to see V-E Day. She gets homesick occasionally, since her family has only been able to visit her one time during the three years that she has been with us, but Jean says that she likes her adopted country very much. MAINTENANCE GREASE SPOTS By Bruce Cassell The weather has been very dry lately, so the fishing hasn’t been so good. However, Bub Thompson and Bill Lyday have been doing quite well. Bill has Bub "skinned” a little since Bill uses a casting rod to catch his fish and Bub has only a hawk that catches the fish and drops them at his feet. There has been several of our boys on vacations lately—all report having a wonderful time, but no fish. Harry Laughter, James Dalton, Clarence Ramer, R. V. Allison and Gordon Hollingsworth.
