POWER DEPARTMENT By Howell Medford Vacations and fishing have taken their toll during the past month. Everyone reports a good time and plenty of fish, judging from the number of "tall tales” told by those returning. Carl Cantrell says that he worked during his vacation—he turned his attention to his farm. Carl has pigs and cows and most everything to compose a nice little farm. We must drop by and visit him sometime. At this writing, Lem Daniels and Crockett Mat thews are on vacation. We hope that they have a very good time, for they are deserving of the best—maybe they will have some good stories for us next month. They simply refused to give us a hint as to what they were planning to do. Virgil Galloway had a lot of fun on his va cation. He had the pleasure (1) of cutting down a bee-tree, and is planning on keeping bees as a hobby. We wish him lots of luck, no stings, and lots of honey. We are happy to report that all of those on our sick list lately are much improved. Mrs. "Dutch” Bruner is home from the hospital, and is recovering nicely. Mrs. David Dixon and new baby are doing fine, so we hear. David says that he feels the responsibility already. We are sorry to hear that one of our former members, J. R. Nash, is seriously ill in Moore General hospital. We wish him a speedy re covery, and hope that he can be back with us soon. John Brown is building a big, new dairy barn —we can see it just across the river from the Boiler Room. Lots of luck Johnnie and plenty of milk. Bill Lowery says that if he valued his rabbits by what they eat, they would be worth $12.00 each. Careful Billy—that’s lots of dough. A few days ago we saw Clarence Allison’s three lovely daughters up town. They are quite grown now. Could it be Clarence is getting old? We wonder where Pete Norwood and Morris Ward are hiding. We haven’t seen or heard of them lately. Could it be that Sam Kent lost them on one of their mountain fishing trips? Sam Kent sold Mr. Kassing some trout flies. Could Mr. Kassing report on his luck? We feel certain that he can, as the flies were of the fancy type. We are doing our best to paint up the old boiler room during the Summer months. In a few weeks we will be sporting a bright and shiny department. LOOK WHO'S HERE Mr. and Mrs. William H. Tritt (Finishing) have announced the birth of Larry David on April 7, 1949.
