The most beautiful flowers ever seen in Brevard were on display at the Annual Flower Show on August 19th. This annual event, sponsored by the Brevard Garden Club, attracted hundreds of flower lovers from several States. Rows upon rows of tables were covered with almost every variety of flower grown in this area. One of the most beautiful and highly compli mented display was the roses of Mr. Aston Heath. The Asheville Judges stated that his was the most beautiful collection of roses that they had ever seen. The unique arrangement of some of the dis plays added glamour to the show. Above left is an arrangement by Mrs. E. J. Coltrane. Her gladioli are in epergnettes. Epergnettes, combi nation candle holders and flower vases, were ori ginally designed by a member of the Raleigh Garden Club. The primary object of the Brevard Garden Club is to beautify the county and to encourage beau tification. This club also sponsores the Junior Garden Club, which assisted the parent club in the arrangements for this year’s show. At top right is shown an exhibit by Sandra Bridges, who is a member of the junior group. This attractive display was given the tri-color award. Below is the cut flower display, behind which is the large dahlia display of Mrs. S. R. Har rington .
