MUSIC FESTIVAL (Continued from page 3) City Center Orchestras; National Symphony, Co lumbus, Dallas and Charlotte Orchestras, and many others. Leo Panasevich, concertmaster of the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo, was concert- master of the orchestra, and Norman Lamb, prin cipal violist of the National Symphony, was as sistant conductor. As for enthusiasm of outsiders, the filled and running over hotels and guest houses of Brevard and the surrounding area are good proof of that. Reservations were being turned away days before the Festival began and many tourists drove con siderable distances to attend all or part of the concerts. Of interest, also, was the publicit)^ ac corded the Festival and Camp on a nationwide scale this season. This included articles in papers all over the eastern United States and releases in various magazines, most notable of which was TIME. IMPORTANCE OF A SMILE Several years ago the sales head of one of the country’s large corporations took his salesmen to a New York stage director so they might learn to smile. Many thought they knew how to smile but the director soon changed their opinion. "In a true smile,” the director told them, "The eyes also smile. In a smirk only the mouth smiles. The eyes seem hard and unfriendly.” After two week’s training at the smile clinic the men went back on the road. Their sales in creased 15%. 11
