Safety isnt sisss it's Jusr plain SMfiRTf GUARD THERE'S SECURITY IN SAFETY! Whether you’re af work, at play, at home, or of^ the highway, you will find that doing things the j saje way means security. Numerous tragedies have ^ resulted from taking unnecessary chances, and if the chance-taker is fortunate enough to remain accident-free, then it’s usually the innocent by stander who has to pay the price of a needless accident. Whether it be through the use of life guards, machine guards, or personal protective equip ment, ’tis a known and established fact that SAFETY ISN’T SISSY—it’s just plain SMART. The employee who follows all safe practice rules, has all minor injuries treated immediately, and re frains from any type of "horseplay”, will surely live longer and suffer less. We should all realize that our personal safety is our responsibility, and act accordingly. Practical jokes are safetys worst enemy, and un told suffering and hardship have often stemmed from what we refer to as "horse-play”. Most every one enjoys a good joke occasionally, but when said jokes border on horse-play that might easily result in personal injury, then they cease to be funny. There are known cases where someone pulled a chair from under a person who started to sit down, and the result was a fatality due to a fractured skull. Broken arms and legs have followed the innocent tripping of some passer-by, and this type of horse-play is so uncalled for. We in industry today, realize just how much Safety and Smooth Operations do mean to us, and every effort is being made to eliminate any un safe practice or condition that could cause bodily harm. Human suffering and loss of wages can be greatly reduced through safe practices, but this cannot be accomplished without the full coopera tion of every individual.
