GIFTS FOR VETERANS This year Ecusta again sent Christmas presents of cigarettes and tobacco to the patients of Oteen and Moore General hospitals. Below are a few of the acknowledgements received from the veterans. Dear Mr. Straus and Employees of Ecusta: Here I come again to thank you for the tobacco, and to say that I ap preciate it is putting it mildly. In fact, I just don’t know how to express my thanks. Your gifts mean so much to us, who have been hospitalized so long, and you can rest assured that we remember you all in our prayers. This is my third Christmas away from home, so you know just how much your gifts mean to me. Again I would like to say, “Thanks a million.” W. D. Mahoney Ex. M-Sgt. 1st Inf. Div. Dear Ecusta Employees: I believe that I am safe in saying that no people of the world provide better treatment, and show more appreciation to its veterans than this great country of ours—and that goes double for the Ecusta Paper Corporation! Many thanks for the fine smokes. E. O. Almon Dear Ecustans: Thanks for the tobacco. We receive very good treatment at this Veterans Administration hos pital, and nice people like you make our stay here more pleasant. Henry W. Kennedy Dear Mr. Straus: My sincere thanks for your generous Christmas gift of tobacco and cigarettes. It is with a sense of pleasure and pride that again and again I am shown that there are many who never forget. I thank God for my country and my people. Charles W. Burns Dear Mr. Straus: I wish to thank you and your company for the generous gift of tobac co. The present came at a time when it was dull here in the ward. It really makes a fellow feel good to know that he is not forgotten. L. S. Manning
