MANY ELIGIBLE VETERANS ARE FAILING TO APPLY FOR NSLI DIVIDENDS There are approximately 1,800,000 World War II veterans who, to date, have failed to show their desire to share in National Service Life Insurance dividends. There may not be any Ecustans in cluded in this number, but just to be on the safe side another notice is being sent to each Ecusta veteran. Each of you must properly apply for your share of the insurance dividends, and it must be done on the proper form. The Veterans Ad ministration can offer no authentic reason for the failure of such a large number of veterans to ap ply, but these DON’TS are offered for your con- cideration. 1. Don’t expect this dividends to be applied toward premium payment of your policy. 2. Don’t expect your leaving this money in the '‘kity” to draw interest at a future date. 3. Don’t expect the Veterans Administration to chase you in order to make this payment. 4. Don’t be surprised if the opportunity of applying by June 1st might be your last chance. Proper forms are available in the Personnel De partment. VETERANS REMINDER 1. If you expect a check, make sure that your post box is in good condition, and firmly fastened in place. 2. See that your box is properly marked. It should have your name on it. 3. You can ask the carrier to ring the bell, or in the country to blow his automobile horn when he delivers your government check. 4. Don’t leave your mail in the box a minute longer than necessary. 5. After you get your check, treat it as carefully as you would handle currency. 6. DO NOT ENDORSE IT until you are in the presence of the man or woman who is going to cash it for you, or in the bank where you are going to deposit it. 7. If your check is lost or stolen, write to the Veterans Administration about it, giving your Army serial number and the number of your insurance policy. But DO NOT WRITE IN un til you are sure that all the checks in your area have been distributed. If you have information that your check was stolen from the mail or from your letterbox, also make a prompt complaint to your post office. 8. If your check becomes torn or mutilated, or if the amount has been obliterated, so that you cannot cash it, return it to the Division of Dis bursement, United States Treasury Department, Washington, D. C., and ask for a substitute. LICENSE PLATE CLASSIFICATION -Several weeks ago a car was on the Ecusta grounds with a 1950 license plate with the letter W on it.
