On May 28th Camp Sapphire will officially open for the 1950 season for Ecusta em ployees and their families. From the closing last fall to the present, the Maintenance Crew at the camp has worked diligently to improve the existing facilities and to provide new facilities, so that the entire area is in better condition than it has ever been before. New grass has been planted on most of the area, the woods have been cleaned out, the recreation area has been improved, and all of the buildings have been repaired. An overall painting project has been completed which has greatly improved the general appearance of the buildings and the entire camp. All of the bathhouses have been completely redecorated and new fixtures have been installed throughout. The tennis courts, which were completely rebuilt last year, are well settled and are in excellent playing condition. These courts are among the best in Western North Carolina. Continued on next page
