You should know your good points better than any one else. Can you find enough of them to qualify you to hold down your job? Ask yourself these questions: If you were the boss and needed a man for your job are you the you’d pick to fill it? Are you delivering a big day’s work, or average, or just enough to get by? Have you reason to be proud of the accuracy and quality of your work or do you often offer alibis? Are you helping your company’s public rela tions campaign by the manner in which you treat outsiders? Do you do your work conscientiously and well regardless of whether or not you are being watched? Do you need a lot of supervision or do you study your job and deliver maximum service of your own accord? Are you a booster for your company and do you offer encouragement to those around you? Are you easier on yourself than you would be on the other fellow if you were the boss? Check yourself on these points and see how you would measure up. If you can honestly say that you do then you can feel encouraged and pro ceed with the confident knowledge that you will be a success in your job—if not then there is still an opportunity to improve your methods. Perhaps we forget that today’s brainstorm is tomorrow’s accepted success—that all good ideas are crazy at birth. Imagine that foolish Galileo thinking that he could bring the stars closer! Fancy that silly young sea captain saying the world is round! Can you beat it? Continued on page 26 9
