This is the largest group to attend the camp and school in its three years of operation. The certificates were presented by Harry H. Straus, Jr. During the one month period a staff of six members gave instructions in solo, sight reading, harmony and theory, and classes were held in group and sectional singing. The instructors were; John D. Eversman, Lucille Heffner and Charles Glass of the Recreation ' Department; Lorraine Parris, Director of Music in the ICity Schools of Newberry, South Carolina and neice of J. I. Gaylor of the Finishing Department; Col. E. B. Gans, Head of Mathematics Department at Henderson ville High School; and Earl H. Martin, Band Director of Hendersonville High School. Each year the company sponsors this Band Camp and Choral School for one month during the summer va cation. Instruments and instructions are furnished free of charge to the students. This year Margaret Ann DeBord, daughter of Horace DeBord of the Maintenance Department, and Mildred Fuller, daughter of John Fuller of the Engineering Of fice, graduated from the band. After graduating from High School, members are no longer eligible for the band.
