ARMY ■'"A NAVY plies. The Marine Corps has been an important ele ment of the nation’s military establishment since 1775. Today, as a triple-threat air, land, and sea team, the marines are always ready to move into action on short notice. Primary among the mis sions of the Marine Corps are the seizure and de fense of advanced naval bases and the conduct of land operations essential to the prosecution of a naval campaign. The actions of the Armed Forces during the past year have spoken loudly and more brilliantly than any words could speak. This is evident to any one who reads the newspapers, listens to the radio, watches television and newsreels, or scans the photographs in magazines. (Turn to next page please)
