The Yankees have a record of six wins and four losses with two games to play. Should the Yankees win both games, they will tie the Cardinals for the league pennant which would necessitate a playoff for the Championship. However, should the Yanks lose either contest, the Cardinals will become the league’s Champions for 1951. The Tigers finished the season with a record of four wins against eight losses. The Indians record will depend on the outcome of the two games with the Yanks, at this writing the Indians have a five win, five loss record. A post-season playoff of the league’s four teams will be held after the remaining scheduled games are played. Teams will be notified of the playoff Schedule when the information is available. Joe Lavel Cris Rogers LAVELL AND ROGERS TO PILOT WNC BOWLERS Joe Lavell and Chris Rogers have been elected Co-Captains of the Ecusta Bowling Team of the Western North Carolina Ten Pin Bowling League. Members of the 1951-52 seasons team will be Co-Captains Joe Lavell and Chris Rogers, Bruce Reynolds, Ed Lass, John Emory, Lewis Meece, and Randall Lankford. The league will consist of 12 teams, playing a 33 week schedule, with the opening date set for Tuesday night, September 4th. 17
