Is your card worn out? Do you have more than one Social Security number? A ' yes” answer to any of these questions may mean loss of wage credits unless you notify your nearest Social Security office or the personnel office. Your name on the payroll should be the same as the one on your Social Security card. If your name has changed since you got your card, simply fill out a "request for change in records” form. You can get this form at the Social Security of fice. A new card will be furnished free and it will show your correct name with your original num ber. If your card has ben lost or worn out, mail your number or the stub to the Social Security of fice and a duplicate card will be sent you. Your new card will bear the same Social Security num ber you had before. Don’t ask for more than one number. If you should have more than one number you might have trouble getting all the Social Security bene fits that will be due to you and your family when you retire at age 65. Moreover, your dependent survivors might have trouble getting all of their payments in case of your death. If you now have more than one account, get in touch with your Social Security office and they will put all of your wage credits into one account. A married man’s life is just a series of rings. First the engagement ring, then the wedding ring, and finally suffering. The ability to speak several languages is valu able, but the ability to keep one’s mouth shut in one language is priceless. Today I did easily and quickly a task that floored me yesterday.
