YANKEES COP 1951 BASEBALL CROWN The Yankees of our Ecusta Interdepartmental Baseball League defeated the Cardinals in a one game play-off for the 1951 Championship, after defeating the Indians two games to gain a tie with the Cards for first place. Manager Wilson Gregory turned in a five hit pitching performance as his team held the Car dinals to two runs while his team banged out thirteen hits, good for ten runs to defeat the Cardinals. Gregory was also the leading hitter for his team with three hits for four times at bat. Manager Troy Drake was the leading hitter for the losing Cards collecting two hits for three times at bat. The Yankees will be awarded the 1951 Cham pionship Trophy at the Annual Baseball Banquet this fall. FINAL STANDINGS TEAM W L Pet.
