The Medical Center, which has recently been completed, is established to provide competent medical service for all employees. Its objective is to maintain employees in good physical condition in order that they may be effective and happy at work, as well as in their home and community life. Our medical program will include the following: (1) Pre-employment comprehensive physical examinations. (2) Prompt medical and surgical care for all injuries and illnesses which may occur while an employee is at work. (3) Periodic physical examinations for all employees on a scheduled basis. Arrangements will be made at the convenience of the em ployees and the departments concerned. All employees are en couraged to take advantage of this important service. (4) Medical counseling or guidance on personal and family health problems. This service will be continuously available and all em ployees are urged to take advantage of this type of service re gardless of the cause of their difficulty. All medical records are strictly confidential unless an employee gives his written consent to disclosure of the records. No one, including company officials, will have access to the medical files except members of the Medical Center staff. At the request of any employee, his medical record will be made available to his private physician. Employees will be advised by our doctors if they are found to have any disability or ailment which is aggravated by the type of work they are doing. This service is designed to benefit our employees and they are assured that it will not jeopardize their jobs. The Medical Center does not in any way replace the relationship that exists between employees and their own physicians. One important objective of the Medical Center is to advise and aid our employees to seek the care of their regular physician during periods of illness and disability.
