To our sorrow, winter
v/eather has brought to an
end a very beautiful Indian
Summer which reminds us
that Christmas is just around
the corner.
On October 13th Mr. and
Mrs. Howard II::tchins and
Mitchell Taylor went to Lexington, Kentucky to
see the Kentucky-Villinova football ^unie. Ken
tucky won with a score of 35 to 13.
Guy Sigmon visited in Charleston, S. C., re
cently and saw the Presbyterian-Citr.del football
game. Presbyterian took that game by a 35 to 0
score.
It has been rumored in the Printing Depart
ment that Ed Ahrens now has a Kermel at his
home on Wilson Drive. So if any of you fellows
need a place to leave your dog while you are away
on vacation just see Ed.
Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Haehnel and son Donald
attended the wedding of Fritz’s nephew in New
York City on November 4th. Fritz was honored
as best man at the wedding.
For once, your reporter was lucky enough to
carry home a nice chocolate cake from the Hal
loween Bingo party.
Carlton Davis spent a recent vacation at his
home in Frankhn, N. C.
ELECTRO-CHEMICAL

Red Green’s son had the
misfortune of breaking his
leg. Sure hope he gets along
alright and will be up and
around again real soon.
Gene Stepp and his wife at
tended the Clemson-Wake
Forest football game. They
reported a good time.
Those having vacations last month were as fol
lows: A1 Ream and Carroll Metcalf. Maybe Car
roll will have some good hunting tales to tell when
he gets back.
Wonder why Calvin R. always jumps when the
phone rings. Maybe we will be able to report more
on that next month.
To get the greatest volume of whipped cream,
chill cream, bowl and beater before you start to
whip the cream.
REFINING

My sincere thanks to Har
old Hogsed of the Beater
Room Office for filling in for
me last month. He did such
a good job. I’m trying to get
him to take it over.
Clifford Gillespie came
back from his vacation all
tired out from coon hunting all over the State. He
caught some too.
Huff Hooper is still worrying about the Uncle
Jimmie Sledge was supposed to have bought at
an Auction Sale.
Guy Emerson’s vacation is to be taken up bird-
hunting over in Huff’s territory.
Curtis Gray’s wife and young son are visiting
in California and Curt has been batching it. Be
ginning to look a little peaked. Boy, I bet he gives
home made biscuits down in the country when
they get back.
Jack Wilber and Frank Patton were among the
Brevard people witnessing the Clemson-Wake
Forest game.
Roy Fisher and family also motored down for
the game but me thinks Roy didn’t like the out
come of the game too well.
"Speedy” Jones is still buying Frank Patton and
Harold Hogsed cokes as a result of the Yanks win
ning the World Series.
Incidentally, our thanks to those who made it
possible for a Coca-Cola machine to be placed in
the department. You just cannot substitute for a
good bottled coke.
Charlie Roller raised a couple of rows of pea
nuts this year and did so well he is thinking of
planting his whole garden in them next year. As
a last thought, Burgin Kilpatrick is still looking
for cigars—
BUCCANEERS ORCHESTRA TO
PLAY FOR TEEN-AGE DANCE
The Recreation Department announces that the
second Teen-age Dance will be held in our cafe
teria on Friday, December 14th at 8:30 P. M.
Children of employees, between 14 and 19 years of
age, are cordially invited, and each teen-ager may
bring one guest. Tables will be reserved for
couples only.
Admission will be by ticket only, and parents
can secure these tickets from their supervisors.
Music will be furnished by the Buccaneers or
chestra of Asheville.
