BEES TAKE OVER LEAD IN BOWLING LEAGUE RACE Honors in our Ecusta Bowling League go to the higli flying Bees who have taken over first place in the league race, three games ahead of their nearest contender the Hillbillies. The Bees have stung three opposing teams in succession for nine straight victories, from November 23rd through Friday December 7th. The victories in respective order were the Maintenance, Transpor tation and Finishing teams. John Emory, one of Ecusta s leading bowlers in the W.N.C. Ten Pin League, has led his team to victory in the last two matches against Transpor tation and Finishing teams with high individual set and game scores of 521 and 467 pin sets and 190 and 181 pin games respectively. However, Arthur Lindley was King Bee in starting the Bees victory flight on Friday night, November 23 against the Maintenance crew as he led his team with individual scores of 552 pins for high set and 204 pins for high game. The Hillbillies moved into second place on Fri day, December 7th, as they whitewashed the Clear Paper five and moved ahead of them by a one game margin. Foy Bryson was the star of the night in leading the feuding Hillbillies to victory with a high individual set score of 530 pins. The Pirates managed to hold on to fourth place in spite of losing two matches out of three played. Pirate captain L. C. Poor bowled the league’s high est individual scores of the season thus far on Friday, November 23rd in the contest against the Clear Paper teams. The Alley Cats and Cellophane Mechanics have moved up ahead of the Finishing, Transportation and Maintenance teams in respective order in the past few weeks. However knowing the calibre of bowlers these teams have on their rosters, it’s doubtful they’ll be content where they stand at this time. The cellar dwelling Electric Shop team is beginning to show power as they gained vic tories in their last two matches, serving notice to the other teams they don’t intend to remain in the cellar, so it looks like the best competition is to be seen from here on.
