ECUSTA KEGLERS GAIN GROUND IN LEADING W. N. C. LEAGUE RACE Ecusra’s bowling team, of the Western North Carolina Men’s Ten Pin League, has moved five games out in front of game margin, by virtue of three shutout victories in their past three matches. The team shellacked the Brevard Amsrican Legion five on Tuesday, November 20th, the Hendrix’s team Tuesday, November 27th and continued their v^in streak to nine straight vic tories in defeating the Allen Transfer Keglers 3 to 0 on Tuesday, December 4th. We are proud to report that Ecusta’s two lead ing bowlers, Bruce Reynolds and John Emory have also gained ground during this time in the race for individual performance honors. Bruce has moved up to fifth place for individual honors with an average of 186-33 pins per game for 42 games bowled, while John, who was the league’s fifteenth leading bowler on Tuesday November 13 th, has shown the greatest improvement in moving up to sixth place in the personal per formance standings with an average of 186-15 pins per game for 39 games bowled. However it takes five good bowlers to make a team, and some teams list as many as ten mem bers although only five men perform at a time. We feel we have a nucleus of the best bowlers in the league in the seven men that make up our Ecusta team’s roster, especially when each of them post an individual average above the 170 pin game mark. Lewis Meece has a 177.18 pins average for 33 games, Joe Lavell 176.29 pins for 30 games, Ed Lass 174.14 for 30 games, Chris Rogers 173.9 for 33 games and Randall Lankford 212 pins for 3 games bowled.
