TURKEY SHOOT AT CAMP STRAUS Les Bryson aims at the target. His shot was best in the second round until the last man beat him by a fraction of an inch. Members of Refining "C” shift held a turkey shoot at Camp Straus on Thanksgiving Eve. Two large, dressed turkeys were the prizes for the best shots. They had planned to hold the shoot as they left their job at 8:00 A. M., but it was too cold and most of them were so sleepy that they post poned it until 1:00 P. M. Some of the members who went home to sleep didn’t wake in time so the other drew names to shoot for the "Rip Van Winkles,” The targets were small, and were placed 100 yards away. A strong cross wind and the chilly weather made the shooting difficult. But, even with those handicaps, the boys proved to be expert marksmen. Joe Mcjunkin won the first turkey, with an al most perfect shot. Clarence Crow won the second one, with Jack Brown shooting for him. Judges were F. L. "Buck” McCall, H. E. New bury, and Alex Kizer. 'Mi Above: Jack Brown is shown aiming his Win chester "22” which won the second turkey for Clarence Crow.
