I '^WGOli i Frank Barton, Backtender, informs the Machine Tender that the paper, which is now coming off the machine, is heavier than specifications call for, and adjustment is necessary. Robert Head, Chief Inspector, grinds palms of hands together in this manner to signal Machine Tender that felt is crushing paper. By lifting his arms in this manner, Arthur Shook, Back- tender, signals Machine Tender that report from Physical Lab is back saying that the paper’s weight is too light. With this ivringing motion Bernice Roberts, Backtender, signals that paper is still wet even after passing through drying section. Shift Foreman Jim Pot eat, with palms of hands turned Shift Foreman Ollie Vallencourt, by rotat- down, raises and lowers hands to signal Machine Tender ing hands in tumbling motion, tells men on that his machine is to be shut down for wire or felt change, machine that felt sides should be reversed.
