"k" SHIFT FINISHING By W. N. Stroup, Jr. Men enjoying vacations this month were Charles Breedlove, Earl Johnson, Ern est Evett and Paul McCoy. Marshall Hunnicutt is our new service operator trans ferring from "C” Shift. Glad . _ - have you with us, Marshall. Robert Hinkle built a lake while on vacation last month and has it stocked with speckled trout. We are looking for an invitation to go fishing with you in the near future, Robert. Some of the boys have got their fishing rods out of moth balls and have hit the trail to the river bank. "Hoot” Allison reports some nice catches but there, seems to be some doubt in "Andys’ ” mind about the size and number of the fish. It looks like "Hoot” will have to take "Andy” along some day ar.d show him the skill of a good fish erman. Van O’Kelly caught an 18 inch brown trout in Little River, but he isn t satisfied for he says that there is one larger and that it is the one he is after. Charles Aiksn has his house almost complete. Let us in on the secret Charles, who is to be the bride? _ i u i We have 10 men on our shift that are bachelors. "B"" SHIFT FINISHING By Lindy McGowan Now that spring is here, I know that many-a-person is happy, especially the fisher men and the baseball fans. I wonder if the fish stories will be any bigger than those last year. This month we wish to congratulate Mr. and Mrs. John W^atson for the arrival of a new daughter, Patricia Ann. Also Mr. and Mrs. Bob Stewart for the arrival of a daughter, Shirley Elaine who weighed 6 lbs. 5 02. . , £ Also Mr. and Mrs. Ty Morris for the arrival or a big boy who weighed 8 lbs. 3 oz. Entering into the service this month from our department is William C. Phipps, who enlisted in the U. S. Marines., (I wonder if he took his "coon dogs” with him?) Since Bill Phipps has left. Bill Pressley has been going around like his best friend had died. Cheer up Bill you still have Hampton. Duane Hooper said that the people who have been teasing him about his choppers had better watch out because he can wear them every day. The re-wind boys are taking up collection to buy Dick Clark a new wallet. "Papa” Horace said he sure was missing his son, Grady Jackson, while he is on vacation. Hor ace said the reason he only took one week of his vacation was that he couldn’t stand to be away from his boy two weeks at a time. Some of the men who enjoyed vacations this past month were; Craig Snipes, Bob Whitaker, who visited Wichita Falls, Texas; James Watson, who vacationed in sunny Florida; Joe Wild; Charles Clark, who said he ran the wheels off his tractor; Ty Morris, who had his hands full at home; Glenn Arrington; John Watson; and Har old Donaldson. It seems like Odel (Jitterbug) Chapmen is having trouble with his "Buice” nine. Somebody had better give him some more medicine because I hear that he has started running cars now.
