PAPER CONVERTING IN SECOND PLACE The Cellophane Operations team is leading our Ecusta Baseball League race, as we enter the final round of play, with a record of 6 wins and 2 losses. The Paper Converting team is close behind in second place with a record of 6 wins and 3 losses. Paper Manufacturing is third with a 4 won 5 loss record while the Cellophane Maintenance team occupies the cellar with a record of 1 win and 7 losses. The teams entered the last round on Monday, July 28, in what looks like a nip and tuck battle between the Cellophane Operations and Paper Converting teams for the coveted Harry H. Straus championship trophy. In the past month we have had some very close contests l^tween the teams and we would like to urge more Ecusta fans to come out and see these games. m 'Phil York, of the Ecusta ball club, is quite a fisher man. See above. NOTICE: ECUSTA GOLFERS AND ARCHERS Plans are being formulated to hold a golf tour nament for our Ecusta golfers and an archery shoot for our Ecusta archers during the month of Aug ust. The golf tournament will be held at the Bre vard Country Club and the archery shoot will be held at Camp Harry H. Straus. The dates and de tails of these events will be posted in the near future. Members of the golf and archery committees cooperating with the Athletic Supervisor, Fritz Merrell in respect to these events are as follows: For golf: George Sexton, Jack Wilber, Budgie Frazer and Wayne Conn; For archery: O. K. Smathers, Bill Bangs and Harry Ballard. In the 1946 and 1947 bowling season 240,000 bowling teams were registered with the American Bowling Congress.
