... THIRTY DA Yes, thirty days grace until these val uable assets you see depicted around these two pages, will be heading back for school and , another nine months of preparing themselves for ‘ the future. | With summer activities still occupying their minds, it will be somewhat hard to sell them on what their safety can mean to them in future vears, but it behooves each of us to really sell this fact to the kids at any cost on our part. To begin with, their very existence depends upon their staying accident-free . . . upon their not being the victim of some careless driver, or some needless serious injury that could have been prevented. It is alarming to know that 5,900 kids between the ages of 5 and 14 were killed in accidents dur ing 1951 . . . that 2,400 of these deaths were due to motor-vehicle accidents . . . and that 1,100 of these precious tots died as a result of accidents in the home. It is even more alarming to know that 150,000 in the above age group were injured in motor-vehicle accidents last year, and that many of them will remain helpless cripples for life. These are just some of the sad, but true facts that we cannot overlook.
