DEPARTMENTAL NEWS PAPER DIVISION AUTO BOUND AND MACHINE BOOKLET By Joyce Emory Thanksgiving has passed and many had turkey for din ner. Two members of our department were very lucky and had free turkey—^Myrtle Smith’s husband won the door drize, 25 lb. turkey, at the V. F. W. Club in Hendersonville and John Smith’s wife won the grand prize, 12 lb. turkey, at the Ecusta Bin^o party. Lucky, Lucky!! Everyone is now "budgeting” for their Christ mas plans. We drew names in our department so we’re listening for sizes and hints. Jessie Gillespie would like to know if anyone has an extra pup. Seems he has almost adopted Eula Landreth's pup. Eula, maybe Jessie feeds him better! Reckon.^ Sara Loftis has a brand new niece . . . Congratu lations! We understand that Sara is training to be a plumber. Right, Sara? Sara Avery has returned to work after being on the sick list for quite a while. Glad to see you back, Sara. Irene Staton, Mary McLaughin, and Eula Lan- dreth have been here ten years. Congratulations! May you all be here many more years. Silver Mann has returned to work after "rest ing” for a month. Rest enough. Silver? Our sympathy is extended to Lillian King who’s mother-in-law passed away last month. The Optimist Bowl game drew some members from our department. Carolyn Garren, Margaret Smith, Charlotte Barnwell and Jessie Gillespie. I might add everyone’s delighted that the Brevard team won the Blue Ridge Championship. Penny Tinsley’s husband got a deer. Nice go ing! ELECTROCHEMICAL By Alfred Galloway Sorry we missed getting our news into the Echo last month, but the time just slipped up on us before we knew it. Gene Stepp is in the hos- I ’ ^ pital again for an operation. He seems to be getting along fine. We hope you will be back with us soon, Gene. Some of the boys have been deer hunting, but Sporting the latest in bibs is 3 months old David Kendrick Carter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Carter of Brevard. Roy is employed in the Fine Paper Department. Mrs. Carter (Edna Fulton) is a former employee of the Fine Paper Department.
