STARS OF THE MONTH Ht/nley Mehaffey L ml Foy Bryson Leonard Cousins The star of the month honor has grown in plur ality to where we have three stars to recognize this month instead of one. So the period between November 28th and January 9th could be called the era of shooting stars. The honors this time go to Hunley Mehaffey, Foy Bryson and Leonard Cousins. Hunley Mehaffey of the Transportation team can well claim the individual honors of the season thus far, due to his bowling fete on Friday night, December 19. During his team’s match with the Clear Paper keglers, Hunky amassed a set total of 625 pins to crash into the 600 club, with three game scores of 226, 194 and 205 pins respectively. This is the highest individual scratch set score that has been bowled in our league in the past two seasons. Incidentally the 226 pin game was Me- haffeys highest individual game score of the season also. On the same night "Mac” was red hot, Foy Bry son of the Hillbillies was also very much in the groove as he turned in a set total of 612 pins from three games of 197, 193 and 222 pins each. Foy’s fete also tops the previous records set by two for mer members of the 600 club, who are Bruce Reynolds w'ith a 607 pin set and Carrol Fletcher with a 604. Foy’s 222 pin game was also his top individual game score of the season. So we too want to congratulate Foy on his fine bowling and say that he and Hunley Mehaffey have really given us two real marks to shoot for. The other individual honor of the month goes to Leonard Cousins, of the league leading Cello- Mecks team. Leonard gained recognition for the high individual game honors with a single game score of 246 pins, on Friday night, January 9. Shown above are the members of the Alley Cat’s bowling team. Although they rank in the second division group, when the Cats go on a prcvv^i they certainly are able to give the first division clubs a rough going over. The Pirates can very well vouch for this as they felt the claws of the Cats on Fri day night, January 9, when the "Prowlers” scratched their way to a 2 to 1 victory over the "Buccaneers”. Alky Cat bowlers include, left to right: Ector Capps, Larry Hollingsworth, Walt Bryson, J. C. Aiken, Captain George Sexton, Bill Emory and Richard Parris. Members absent when photo was made were: Blaine Emory, Robert Kor- stian, Leroy Mills, Johnny Harris and "Buck” Roberts. 14
