New Lock For Rear Car Doors replaces the con ventional lock button, giving you either safety locking or normal locking. Pushing a button locks it down so that it can’t be pulled up, pre venting accidental opening of the doors by chil dren. Unlocking it with the ignition key returns it to normal use. Car Safety Belt for the front seat grips an occu pant by the shoulders as well as the waist in a collision or sudden stop. It is anchored by a U bolt set in the floor of the car 8 to 12 inches behind the front seat; and it will not interfere with the folding action of the front seats in 2 door cars. Novelty Light with all the makings of a good traffic stopper is the Mem-O-Lite. A plastic base mounts the little lamp and holds a memo pad and pencil. Lifting the pencil turns the light on, replacing it in its groove turns it off. Motorist’s Aid is for motorists who have a fear of changing a tire in the night on a poorly lit or dark road. The new highway safety light kit fea tures a spare sealed beam automobile headlamp that can be snapped into a steel stand. The unit’s beam can be thrown where the driver requires the light—on the blownout tire or at the motor. Thermo-Base Warm Air Baseboards ... A sim plified system of base-board warm air heating is called Thermo-Base. The units look like base-' boards, but have a row of holes through which warm air is evenly distributed. They are to be installed in perimeter walls of each room, usually under windows. Odor-Free Enamel ... A new line of interior finishes to be known as Odor-Free employs im proved alkyds developed in Modene’s laboratories. In addition to being entirely free of the usual pungent paint fumes, the new line offers a variety of properties not heretofore combined in any sin gle line of either odorless or regular interior paints. New Timberline Siding has the appealing rus tic finish of the prestained, deep-shadow Western Red Cedar. The combination of soft-finish, nat ural-wood beauty, and practical, long-lasting fac tory staining seems to make Timberline a natural choice for ranch-type houses and other popular new home plans. Nonelectric Door Chime . . . An unusual new item just introduced is a 2 note nonelectric door chime with a solid brass nameplate. The name plate mounts on the outside of the door and has a brass turn knob which operates the chime.
