CHARLES LINK STARS IN WNC TOURNEY
OTHER ECUSTANS AMONG WINNERS
Charles Link, captain of the Cello-Mecks took
first place in the All Events of the 17th annual
WNC Ten Pin Bowling Tournament, which was
held in Asheville recently.
Link also led his Cello-Meek team to second
place honors in the team event with a team total
of 3073 pins. The first place hoonrs went to
Mable’s Lunch team with a total of 3180 pins.
Incidentally one Ecustan, Jim Metcalf of the
Transportation Department is a member of this
team.
In the doubles event Charles Link and his part
ner Jack Bryson placed eighth with a total of 1217
pins. However, Lewis Meece and Chris Rogers
co-captains of Ecusta’s WNC team placed second
in this event with a total of 1251 pins. Four other
pairs of Ecustans placed among the fifteen win
ners of the doubles event.
In the singles event Ecustans dominated ten of
the twenty-nine prize winning places. Charles
Link, Ecusta’s star of the tourney came in second
with a score of 684 pins.
In capturing first place in the All Events Charles
amassed a total of 1926 pins, 35 pins ahead of
his nearest contender. It is interesting to note that
out of ten prize places in the All Events six of
these were won by Ecusta bowlers. Ole Gutter

of the fine showing our bowlers made in the an
nual classic. So congratulations go to Charles Link
and all of our other bowlers for their fine work.
