TECHNICAL
By Jack Smathers
There is a rumor afoot that
Billie Foster would like a
transfer to the maintenance
department. Haven’t been
able to collect all the facts
behind this desire, but I am
sure there must be a good
reason. " ‘''
Garris Parker had to take a week’s vacation to
rest from the added duties of fatherhood. It seems
he spent most of the nights walking the floor.
One astounding happening that still has most
of us a bit shaky was the Ray Wike trade of his
"A” Model for a Cadillac. It seems that if you
are going you might as well go first class.
An exclusive interview with Bruce Brown re
veals the fact that T.V. in his opinion is just a
passing fancy. Of course, he, like a lot of us peas
ants, does not yet own one.
Paul Frisk is getting grey-headed over the fact
that the Government is supporting the price of
butter. Of course that fact really does not bother
him, but it seems the support of butter keeps the
price of milk up and that does worry him. Kind
of confused I think, but it must be correct.
On the serious side, I find a large percentage of
the technical group is concerned about the absence
of common sense highway safety. Let’s all be
sure that we do not become a highway department
statistic. Remember Brevard is now a two-hearse
town. By way of information, Carr Lumber Co.,
has a small diesel railroad engine that often crosses
the highway—:apparently to get on the other side
—but it is still larger and heavier than your auto
mobile.
