Hooper James H. Norman The Ashevlle Regional Blood Center Asheville, North Carolina July 20, 1953 . Mr. L. F. Dixon, General Manager Ecusta Paper Division Mr. N. H. Collisson, General Manager Olin Cellophane Division Pisgah Forest, North Carolina Gentlemen: The deserved reputation of the Ecusta Paper Corporation for advancing on to higher ground, year by year, is well exemplified by your splen didly organized blood program, culminating in the production of 450 pints of blood on July 15 and 16, 1953. Two thirds of this donation is be ing processed into Gamma Globulin for the pre* vention of paralytic polio and into Serum Album in for our wounded. (Approximately 264 lOcc units of Gamma Globulin and approximately 72 lOOcc units of Serum Albumin). One third of this donation will be used as whole blood in our regional hospitals. I have observed the past four years, that the morale of an Industrial plant can be judged quite accurately by the response of the employees to the blood program. The employees reflect the atti tude of management. When employees are happy in their work and proud of their management, they will always do their part in the support of an humanitarian cause. Your well arranged Medical Clinic and efficient Medical staff aided greatly in making the opera tion a success. Thanking you for your whole hearted and ef fective cooperation with the National Blood Pro gram. Sincerely yours, Frederick Starr Wright,MD. Director 10
