PAPER DIVISION WINS TOP SAFETY AWARD Ecusta Paper Division has received the Edward Benton Fritz Memorial Trophy for 1952 for the best safety achievement among 284 pulp and pa per mill members of the National Safety Council. The award was made in Chicago at the Na tional Safety Council Convention on October 22, at the Conrad Hilton Hotel. Mr. A. Scott Dowd, President of Fritz Publications, Inc. and publisher of the Paper Industry Magazine, made the award in memory of the founder of the magazine. H. E. Newbury accepted the hand-embossed plaque on behalf of the company. In his presentation speech, Mr. Dowd said, '"The judges faced a tremendous task in selecting the winner for the grand prize among 284 contestants, 23 of which had perfect scores. From May 17, 1952 to December 31, 1952 there was a total of 1,486,979 man-hours worked without a lost time accident. "Ecusta has made continuous outstanding prog ress in its reduction of accidents since 1947. Mr. Newbury, please extend to the employees and the management of your company the heart iest congratulations of the Pulp and Paper Sec tion, National Safety Council, and the publication which I represent, the Paper Industry, for their splendid safety achievement.” 1
