Left: Mr. and Mrs. William Heaton. Below; “Uncle Bill” in his bicycle and tool repair shop in Hendersonville. m'm THE WILLIAM HEATONS TO OBSERVE FIFTIETH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY DECEMBER 20 Mr. and Mrs. William E. Heaton will observe their Golden Wedding Anniversary in Decem ber. Th'cy will hold open house on December 20 at their home at 820 Duncan Hill Road in Hen dersonville. The Heatons extends an invitation to all of their friends at Ecusta to visit them on that date. "Uncle Bill”, as he was affectionately called when he worked in the Maintenance Department retired on December 31, 1951. One of the first employees to retire under the Ecusta Retirement Plan, he is now enjoying a life of leisure. He spends a great deal of his time in his bicycle and tool repair shop. All the money he makes from his shop is spent on playthings for his grandchildren and under privileged children in the community. Last Christmas he gave away almost all of his tricycles and bicycles to children who otherwise would not have received anything. Prominently displayed in his shop is his fish ing tackle. Uncle Bill says that he kfeeps his tackle near at hand so there won’t be any time lost if some of his friends drive up and suggest a fish ing trip. He’ll go anywhere at anytime and with anyone who likes to fish. Uncle Bill is very proud of the new brick church that is being built on a plot of ground he gave in memory of his son, William, who was killed during World War II. Another one of his sons, Haskel, is employed in the Casting Department of the Olin Cellophane Division. Uncle Bill asked us to emphasize the fact that he will be looking for all of his friends, "from the warehouses to the office”, on December 20.
