4ll ♦ - jm/ MACHINE BOOKLET AND AUTO BOUND By Joyce Emory Welcome 1954. May your days bring each of us health and happiness. Good bye 1953, your days left memor ies we shall treasure forever. Many New Year’s resolu tions have been made and perhaps broken, but here are a few that have been reported; Mary Galloway resolves to quit slipping money out of Clyde’s trousers when he’s on grave yard. Sarah Loftis resolves to learn to bowl and roll a score higher than T. Silver Mann wants to bowl a game of 300. (It’ll probably turn out to be a set of 300.) Mae Whitmire wishes to remain a young (pre maturely gray) grandmother. Gladys Cassell resolves to do more and better work by staying off the telephone. Sammie Hensley will endeavor to remain the same as she was last year. Agnes Hileman wants to eat more during 54 than she did during ’53. Alma Gwens resolves not to have any more birthdays now that she is 21 Lillian King is going to try to always mate her shoes in pairs. The foregoing resolutions were made probably all in vain, but I’ll pass them on for their benefit. We welcome Janette Riddle back to work and hope that her health keeps improving. Above is 7 year old Tony White, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl White of West Asheville. Carl is em ployed in the Coating Department (Film Divi sion) and Aida is in the Main Office. Hugh Bradburn vacationed during the month of December, spending much of his time hunt ing. George Heyman is the newly elected Vice- President of the Hendersonville Public Speaking Class. He is ready to make a speech on anything from lower taxes to the love life of a grasshopper! Mildred Scott vacationed Tampa, Florida way. She was there basking in the sun while we shiv ered in the cold winds! Sonia Colwell chose New York City for her vacation spot. Plenty of excitement up there dur ing the Holidays. Did you have any snow? Carl Stephens vacationed in Brevard during the holiday season. Danny (Mrs Thomas) New and family vaca tioned in New Jersey during the holidays. We hope that you had a fine trip and good weather! Earl Bryant vacationed Mars Hill way late in December. How is the farm coming along? Ruth Feaster took the second week of her vaca tion and visited in Chapel Hill, N. C. J. D. Finch vacationed in Miami and Miami Beach in December. The story goes that J. D. tried some deep sea fishing but, not being a sea faring man, he did not enjoy the up and down swell of the waves!
