DEPARTMENTAL NEWS PAPER DIVISION Miw AUTOBOUND AND MACHINE BOOKLET By Joyce Emory This month finds Sara L. vacationing in Florida—Mar garet L. resting at Penrose— and Carolyn G. "all rested” from her vacation in Atlanta. Our sympathy is extended to Louise and Cameron Houk. Cameron’s father passed away in January. I do wish something exciting would happen in Mr. and Mrss. Fleet Gallamore Holden were mar ried Saturday, January 16, at the home of Mrs. Pearl McCall, sister of the bride, in North Bre vard. The ceremony was performed in the pres ence of the two families by the Rev. B. W. Thom ason, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Holden is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Price of Lake Toxaway, N. C. She is employed in the Endless Belt Department (Paper Division). Mr. Holden is the son of Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Holden of Pisgah Forest, N. C. Following a re ception the couple left on a trip to Florida. our department so we could have so'me "real” news. All of us do the same ole things each week except John L. and we’re afraid to write about his adventures! But I will say that was a pretty neat trick he pulled on John S. at Christmas! $5.00 for a Christmas gift that didn’t appear under the tree! Our bowling team is still enjoying rolling away on Tuesday nights! Flossie G. wonders if there’s a cure for bowling fever. Jessie G. has passed the "fever” of bowling on to his wife, so he’ll prob ably be asking the same question. Seems Mr. Loftis has had lots of help in closing his alleys from the Gillespies. Silver M. wishes someone would tell her how to keep her girls from marrying so young. She has another son-in-law. Heath Allison and Mary Lou were married in November. Congratulations! Heath is Agnes H’s brother. Silver is vacationing to "get over” the shock. "Why did you stop singing in the choir, Thomas.^” "Well, one Sunday I was sick, and didn’t sing, and a lot of people in* the congregation asked if the organ had been fixed.” Flax is superstitiously regarded by many farm ers as hard on land. Actually, it removes less plant nutrients from the soil than wheat, oats, rye, barley or corn. Shown above is Sandra Diana Whitmire, the one year old granddaughter of Mrs. Mae Whitmire. Mrs. Whitmire is employed in Fine Paper Dept. 18
