Robert P. Stewart William W. Wells RECENT APPOINTMENTS The appointment of Robert P. Stewart as at torney in the Legal Department was announced this month by Philip C. Brownell, Assistant Coun sel of Olin Industries, Inc., and Vice President of Ecusta Paper Corporation. Mr. Stewart, a native of Charlotte, N. C., is a graduate of Duke University and the University of Michigan Law School. He is a member of the Bar of North Carolina and Michigan. Entering the Army as a Private in 1941, Mr. Stewart was discharged in 1947 with the rank of Lt. Colonel. He was decorated with the Bronze Star and two oak-leaf clusters while serving with the 30th Infantry Division artillery in the Euro pean Theatre of Operations. He is a Lt. Colonel in the Field Artillery Reserves. At the end of World War II, while still in uni form, he was a legal assistant and military aide to Judges Francis Biddle and John J. Parker at the trials of the major war criminals at Nurnburg. His legal experience has included a law clerk ship with John J. Parker, Chief Judge of the U. S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit. He has been a member of, and associated with, law firms in Charlotte, and has been legal counsel for the Reg ional Office of the Reconstruction Finance Cor poration in Charlotte. Mr. Stewart is married to the former Helen O’Neal of Asheville, and they have three sons. William W. Wells has been appointed Wage and Salary Supervisor, it was announced by E. B. Garrett, Industrial Relations Manager. Mr. Wells, a native of Canton, N. C., is a grad uate of Wake Forest College. Prior to coming to Ecusta, he was in business in Asheville and was Supervisor of the Wage Standard Section of the American Enka Corporation. Volunteering as an aviation cadet in the Army Air Force in 1942, he served in the Air Transport Command in the South American and Caribbean Theatres of Operations. He was discharged in 1946. Mr. Wells is married to the former Dorothy Jeanne Smith of Canton. They have three chil dren. RECENT VISITOR A recent visitor at Ecusta was Mr. J. P.
