Her brother, Larry Arthur (age four) stands by ready to lend a hand with the sampling. They’re the children of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur B. Moor? of West Asheville. Arthur is in the Film Casting Department. "B" SHIFT SLITTING By Ernest G. Gilstrap News this month is at a standstill, but vacations keep rolling along. Craig Snipes, Dan Taylor and Dallas Ball said they caught up with some much needed rest on their vacations. "3-D” McGee was more adventurous. He toured Georgia, Alabama and Florida last week. He got a nice sun tan, too —on his left forearm. Grady ("I The Jury”) Jackson is sitting in judgment at the Henderson County Court House this week and Merritt is probably using his two weeks to polish his Hud son. Tom Ellis said that he couldn’t stand to lie un der a shade tree and watch his wife hoe the gar den. He said he just had to turn his head. If any of you fellows are seeking any informa tion on the new motor cure deal, get in touch with Jarrett Smith. What do you say, Watson? White Finishing - Paper Div. Lilar T. Wilson Endless Belt Norman L. Thompson Maintenance - Paper Div. Beulah C. Owens Main Office PLANNING OFFICE By Barbara Talley and Bettye Batson Wondering what happened to our news last month? We were in the process of changing "re porters” and saving news items, so it looks as if we will have oodles of news this month. "Spring has sprung” and we find Sam back in Clinton, Iowa, for a week trying desperately to re new his Yankee brogue. He was so afraid he was turning "Rebel”. Poor Tom hardly knows spring is here. All he can think of is having to r-snew his Air Force "career”. (For fifteen days.) Jency and Dorris are really making a great head way at getting their household supplies. They took a trip to Kannapolis via rail with the inten tions of buying out Cannon Mills. Know what they came back with—two towels and three dish cloths. Keep up the good work, girls. You’ll soon have enough to start housekeeping. "Professor” Whitaker is instructing "special stu dent” Dickson in figures (numerical, that is). Boys, who’s teaching who what? The patrolmen are really keeping a close watch on the highways nowadays. The reason—Bobbie and Dottie have recently acquired their drivers’ license. If you see something creeping up behind you, it will either be a ’54 sports model Studebaker or a sleek black "Chewy”. They don’t have enough nerve to pass yet. Wonder why Bettye has been riding around on clouds? She is the proud owner of a beautiful new Pontiac. (Anyway she says she has a small claim.) Smooth riding to you, Bettye. If any information is needed concerning the "hurry-back” shift, which, of course, evenings one night and days immediately following, ask Mada- line. She knows how the over-sleeping part is done. If you have noticed anything unusual about Judy and Lu lately it is because they have gone "export crazy”. Judy has been training Lu for her job. There’s a way out of it all, girls. Ever thought of exporting yourselves? Surprise!! Bill Stroup has a new addition to his family—"Chigger”, a Mexican Chihuahua. Johnny just had to get away from it all, so he took a trip to the eastern part of the state. We all welcome Luther Norton to our force, for the time being, and we prolong our welcome to Ruby who is almost a permanent fixture by now. That’s all for this month, but don’t miss us next month for, by then, we will be hearing wedding bells.
