CAMP STRAUS COACHING SCHOOL FOR BOYS AND GIRLS OPENS JULY 12-13 Camp Straus Coaching School will open its 1954 session on Monday, July 12 for boys and on Tuesday, July 13 for girls. Age limits will be 7 to 14. The coaching school will run for a four week period, with sessions on Mondays, Wednes days and Fridays for boys only and on Tuesdays and Thursdays for girls only. Hours will be from 9:30 A. M. until noon. Activities will be set up according to age groups with competitive games arranged for those of the same ages. The fundamentals of many sports will be taught and special emphasis will be placed on swimming and water safety. All boys and girls attending the school are urged to bring their swimming suits and towels, as much time will be devoted to swimming. Due to limited available bus service, only one bus will run from Brevard following the route shown below. Children at Pisgah Forest, Orr’s Store and Glady Branch may, at no cost, ride the Brevard Bus to Camp Straus on its regular nine o’clock run through those sections.
