RECENT PERSONNEL CHANGES IN FILM DIVISION E. A. Cooley A. R. Winterhalter D. R. Stoneback J. C. Pettee EDWARD A. COOLEY Edward A. Cooley, of the Ecusta Paper Corpora tion, has been transfered to Pisgah Forest from New Haven, Conn. Mr. Cooley assumes his new duties as a Chemical Engineer associated with the polyethylene film production section of the Film Division. He was formerly employed in development engineering in the Division’s Re search and Development Department at New Haven. Mr. Cooley is a native of Pittsburgh, Pa. He graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1952. While at college, he was a member of Theta Chi, Alpha Chi Sigma, and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. He then joined the Olin Mathieson Chemical Corporation of which the Ecusta Paper Corporation is a subsi diary. He saw service during World War II in the Medical Department of the Army Air Force during which time he attained the rank of ser geant. He married the former Suzanne Dane of New Haven. They have two sons. The family plans to make their home in Hendersonville. ALAN R. WINTERHALTER Alan R. Winterhalter was recently trans ferred from the Arms and Ammunition Division to the Film Division as a Methods and Standards engineer. For the period, August, 1953 until September, 1954, Mr. Winterhalter was at the New Haven location, first spending seven months in the Man agerial and Technical Training Program. He was subsequently assigned to the Research and Devel opment Department of the Arms and Ammunition Division.. He assisted in setting up manufactur ing standards for the new arms plant and wrote technical reports on all government contracts con cerning the research and development of ammuni tion. Mr. Winterhalter received his elementary and secondary education from the schools of Ashland, Massachusetts and graduated with a B.S.M.E. (In dustrial Engineering Major) from the University of Massachusetts. He is a member of Theta Chi Fraternity and the American Society of Mechan ical Engineers. His residence is Apartment J-1, Sapphire Manor. DONALD F. STONEBACK A recent transferee from the Film Research and Development Department at New Haven, Donald F. Stoneback, has been appointed Superintendent of the Polyethylene Department at Pisgah Forest. Mr. Stoneback is a native of Perkasie, Pa., where, after completing high school, he worked as a glass cutter in a local factory. From 1941 through 1944, he served with the 28th, 92nd and 30th Infantry Divisions, and was with the latter unit in the ETO as a mortar pla toon leader. He held the rank of 1st Lieutenant. After discharge he entered Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pa., obtaining a B. S. in Chemical En gineering in 1948. Upon graduation, Mr. Stoneback accepted em ployment with Olin at Western Cartridge Com pany, East Alton, Illinois. His service with Olin Industries includes research and development work in smokeless powder, ammunition, and priming at East Alton, research and development in cello phane, polyethylene, and other films at New Hav en, and technical and manufacturing experience with polyethylene film at Cambridge, Mass. Mr. and Mrs. Stoneback were married in 1942. They have no children. They will reside at 505 Probarte Street, Brevard. JACK C. PETTEE Jack C. Pettee was recently employed as a Methods and Standards Engineer after twelve years of military service. Mr. Pettee graduated from the U. S. Military Academy in 1945 and re ceived a Master of Business Administration de gree from the University of Chicago in 1950. Mr. Pettee spent two years in Japan as a fighter pilot with the 49th Fighter Group. His last four years of service was at the headquarters of the Military Transport Service in Washington, D. C. He was discharged as a captain with a rating of senior pilot. Mr. Pettee, his wife, the former Patricia Med- ham of Waukegan, Illinois, and daughters, Chris tine, 8, and Marilyn, 5, reside on Main Street Ex tension.
