R. L. Hockley Russell Hopkinson Robert W. Lea R. B. Lewis David T. Marvel D. W. DRUMMOND Donald W. Drummond, vice president for op erations of Olin Mathieson Chemical Corporation, was vice president in charge of the Industrial Chemicals Division of Mathieson Chemical Cor poration. Since he came to Mathieson in 1938, Mr. Drummond has served as sales manager of the Carbon Dioxide Division, assistant and gen eral sales manager, director of industrial chemical sales, and president of the Industrial Chemicals Di vision. He is a director of the Chlorine Institute. R. L. HOCKLEY R. L. Hockley, now vice president for operations of Olin Mathieson, became a vice president of Mathieson Chemical Corporation in November, 1953, when he came to the company from Davi son Chemical Corporation, Baltimore. He had been associated with Davison since 1934 and served successively in the capacities of vice presi dent, executive vice president, and president. Mr. Hockley is a director of the Mercantile Safe De posit and Trust Company of Baltimore and U. S. Hoffman Machinery Corporation. RUSSELL HOPKINSON Russell Hopkinson, vice president for develop ment of Olin Mathieson, was formerly vice presi dent of Mathieson in charge of development and chemical research operations. Previous to that he headed the company’s Commercial Development Division. Mr. Hopkinson came to Mathieson in 1950 after heading his own consulting engineer ing firm. He was director of commercial develop ment for the U. S. Rubber Co., from 1943 to 19^7 and prior to that president of Ostro Research Laboratories, Inc. During World War II he served the government in the Office of the Rub ber Director. ROBERT W. LEA Robert W. Lea, vice president for organization and a member of the board of directors of Olin Mathieson Chemical Corporation, is a former president of the Johns-Manville Corporation. Prior to joining Johns-Manville, he was president of the West Virginia Coal and Coke Corporation and president of the Ohio River Company, He was assistant administrator of the National Recovery Administration under General Hugh S. Johnson. He has been president and general man ager of Lea Fabrics, Inc., Newark, New Jersey, and president and general manager of the Moline Implement Company, Moline, Illinois. Mr. Lea is a member of the board of managers of the Delaware Lackawanna and Western Rail road Company and director of West Virginia Coal and Coke Corporation, Curtiss-Wright Corpora tion, Universal Pictures Company, Inc., Ohio River Company and Decca Records, Inc. R. B. LEWIS Ronello B. Lewis is vice president for financial analysis of the corporation. He has been vice president and comptroller of Mathieson since No vember, 1953. Mr. Lewis began his business career with Montgomery Ward & Co. in 1932. From 1941 to 1949 he served as assistant treasurer of Butler Brothers, national distributors of general merchandise, and in 1949 became controller of the Radio Corporation of America, a position he held until he joined Mathieson. He is a member of the Controllers’ Institute of America. DAVID T. MARVEL David T. Marvel, vice president for sales of Olin Mathieson Chemical Corporation, has had experience in various manufacturing and sales positions. A native of Richmond, Indiana, Mr. Marvel joined the Olin organization in 1949 as general sales manager of the Western Brass Mills which later became a part of the Metals Division. He was appointed sales manager of the Metals Divi sion in 1950 and became the company’s vice presi dent for sales in January, 1953, when the office was created. While on leave from Olin during parts of 1951 and 1952, he was Deputy Assistant Administrator of the National Production Authority Metals and Minerals Bureau. He was, also, the United States representative on the Copper-Zinc-Lead Committee of the International Metals Conference. Mr. Marvel held executive sales positions with Carnegie Steel, Timken Roller Bearing Company, National Tube Company and United States Steel, before joining the Olin company. 5
