HOMER BATSON
BOWLS 256 GAME
The individual honors at this time go to Homer
Batson, Captain of the Paper Makers team, for
bowling the highest individual scratch game of
256 pins on November 3. Foy Bryson still holds
th2 top set score of 593 pins for both men’s
leagues. However, N. L. Ponder came close with
the second best set, on November 11th, as he
turned in a set score of 591 pins.
Betty Batson, the other half of the Batson duet,
came through with a 168 pin game for the highest
in the womens’ leagues since Margaret Head
turned in her 200 pin game. Joyce Emory held
the highest individual scratch set score for the
ladies with a 463 pin total, which she turned in
on the opening night of play.
Many new members were added to the 500 and
200 clubs in the past few weeks and we expect the
clubs to grow right along. “Gutter Gus” is won
dering who will be the first to start the 600 club.
Maybe we’ll have a report for the next Echo,
who knows? We’ll all keep trying.
