MAINTENANCE By Bob Parker Well, here it is November and we have gotten a good dose of winter and good hunt ing weather. There isn’t many on the vacation list this month, but those who did take a vacation are as follows: R. W. Parris, J. E. Reese, D. L. Thorne and J. E. Allison. Wonder if Arnold Smallwood could make a success out of a snack bar. Guess everyone has heard of the shot gun that Willie Rahn bought for Danny Vick. Danny will at least be able to show his thanks for giving Wil lie some deer meat. We hear that George Sexton has a good used Pontiac for sale. It seems that George doesn t like the way other cars fail to see a Pontiac coming down the road. Has anyone heard about the argument Homer Blythe had. It looked like he might have walked into a lion’s den. All Homer says is it was his wife, his stove wood and his wife s business. See you next month. SHEETING & SHIPPING By Marie Guinn We wish to congratulate Ray Keener on the arrival of a baby girl, born in the Transylvania Community Hospital on October 21. Debra Jean Weighed 6 lbs. iVi 02. Ray took his vacation the following week to stay home with his wife and the new baby. We welcome Leonard Reese to this department. He replaced Thomas McCall when he transferred to Slitting. Some of the boys in Shipping have been doing some car trading. Floyd has a new Chevrolet and Joe has a ’48 Pontiac. Everyone seems to be get ting excited over the new cars. They sure are nice though. Cecil has been talking to himself lately,^ but all the boys can understand is "Mush, Mush”. They said if anyone knew what he was talking about to please come and tell them. Mickey, Wilma and Sal went to the circus a couple of weeks ago. They all seemed to have en joyed it very much. Callie and her family went to Mount Mitchell a couple of weeks ago and she said it surely was cold. Planning has borrowed Ruby and Dot several times lately. They don’t seem to mind too much, though. Several of the girls and their families visited the Biltmore Estate recently and all of them really had a wonderful time, especially Inez. SALES OFFICE By Bernice Conklin The welcome mat is out for Dick Doyle and Jack Kel ly, Sales Trainees, Gloria Lev itt, Customer Service, Mar guerite Lyons, Technical Serv ice, Muriel Liebman, Sales Promotion. Two thousand cases of baby oil to Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth T. Jones on the birth of son, Eric Lauren, and to Mr. and Mrs. Hutton W. Miller on birth of daughter, Katherine Christine. The orchestra played as Dorothea O Brien, Sales Promotion, became wife of Bill Brunner on Octo ber 9th. Anita Prestianni, receptionist, now Mrs. Phil Amato, tells us the Ponconos was a wonderful place to honeymoon. Showers of confetti fell on Rosemarie Carlow, Customer Service, and Charlie Cino who were married November 6th. New York-New England, here he comes! Chuck DeVinne has completed his hitch as Sales Trainee and is now out racking up sales in his new territory. BLOOD BANK NOTES Due to some recent misunderstanding of the Red Cross Blood program, all em ployees should take note of the following two items; L Only members of an employee’s immediate family is eligible for blood from the Red Cross Blood Bank under the terms stipulated on the Blood Donor cer tificate. Persons who are not members of an employee’s immediate family (hus band or wife, dependent children, de pendent parents) and not covered by an other certificate must either pay for blood or get donors outside the program. 2.
