are the proud parents of a baby boy, David Lee,
born at the Transylvania Community Hospital on
October 13, and weighing 7 lbs. 1V4 oz.
It is a girl for Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Galo-
way (Machine Room). Linda Dianne was born
on October 12 at the Transylvania Community
Hospital and weighed 7 lbs. 14 oz.
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth T. Jones (N. Y. Cello
phane Sales) are happy to announce the arrival of
Eric Lorin born in Kalamazoo, Michigan in Aug
ust.
It is a girl for Mr. and Mrs. Hutton W. Miller
(N. Y. Cellophane Sales). Katherine Christine
was born in September in Riverside, Illinois.
Cheryl Ann Nicholson, an 8 lb. 1 oz. girl, was
born to Mr. and Mrs. Andrew B. Nicholson (Elec
tro Chemical) on October 5 in Harris Community
Hospital in Sylva, N. C.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Zieglier (Finishing-
Film) are the proud parents of a baby boy born
on October 17 at Lyday’s Clinic. Van Blake
weighed 9 lbs. 9 oz.
Debra Jean Keener was born to Mr. and Mrs.
J. Ray Keener (Finishing-Film), at the Transyl
vania Community Hospital on October 21. She
tipped the scales at 6 lbs. 12 Vi oz.
From the Printing Department we have the
news of a baby boy born to Mr. and Mrs. Ernest
R. Smith. Nathan Evan was born at the Transyl
vania Community Hospital on October 30 and
weighed 7 lbs. 15% oz.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hemphill (Janitor-Con
verting) are happy to announce the arrival of a
baby girl, Sharon Margaret, born on October 10 at
the Transylvania Community Hospital. She
weighed 9 lbs. 2 oz.

There are 255 organizations in the United States
today which are listed as subversive by the Attor
ney General’s office. We believe our employees
should know the names of these groups. These
are organizations which often appeared in the
news columns of newspapers and in magazines.
The list is correct as of April, 1954.
Many of these organizations have assumed titles
that have a patriotic connotation, but all are fly
ing under false colors, according to the Attorney
General’s office which submitted them to the De
partment of Justice.
With so many groups and thousands upon
thousands of "loyal” members all seeking to under
mine our Government, it is vital that we keep
our guard up and be ever vigilant.
One example of misleading names among these
organizations will suffice. The National Blue Star
Mothers of America is listed as subversive, but
how easy to confuse it with the Blue Star Mothers
of America, which is in no way subversive.
This company has a long record of patriotic
service and cooperation in security measures, and
so it seems appropriate that this list be presented
for careful reading by Olin Mathieson employees.
