ATTORNEY GENERAL’S OFFICE i LISTS 255 DRGANIZATI DNS i AS SUBVERSIVE J t S QQQQQQOOOO oooo o o_o_o_Q Q o_o_P_P_o_Q_Q_q^ There are 255 organizations in the United States today which are listed as subversive by the Attor ney General’s office. We believe our employees should know the names of these groups. These are organizations which often appeared in the news columns of newspapers and in magazines. The list is correct as of April, 1954. Many of these organizations have assumed titles that have a patriotic connotation, but all are fly ing under false colors, according to the Attorney General’s office which submitted them to the De partment of Justice. With so many groups and thousands upon thousands of "loyal” members all seeking to under mine our Government, it is vital that we keep our guard up and be ever vigilant. One example of misleading names among these organizations will suffice. The National Blue Star Mothers of America is listed as subversive, but how easy to confuse it with the Blue Star Mothers of America, which is in no way subversive. This company has a long record of patriotic service and cooperation in security measures, and so it seems appropriate that this list be presented for careful reading by Olin Mathieson employees. The list follows: UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE APRIL 1, 1954 CONSOLIDATED LIST OF ORGANIZA TIONS PREVIOUSLY DESIGNATED PUR SUANT TO EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 10450, COMPILED FROM MEMORANDA OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL DATED APRIL 29, JULY 15, SEPTEMBER 28, 1953 AND JANUARY 22, 1954.
